Academic Pressure: Are We Expecting Too Much From Our Children?

A child's report card represents academic performance—not the complete value of the child.

Academic success matters, but excessive pressure can make children associate learning with fear.

Encourage effort, curiosity, improvement, and resilience rather than focusing exclusively on marks and ranks.

Every child develops at a different pace. Comparing children with classmates, siblings, or relatives can create unnecessary pressure and reduce confidence.

Parents can support achievement while still communicating that their child's worth is not dependent on academic performance.
